ASEAN-China Forum 2020 | The Energy Policies and Carbon Emissions in Singapore

When: 2:00-4:00 pm, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020

Where: Zoom Meeting (ID: 815 7296 5712)

Topic: Dr. Bin Su would analyze the embodied energy and embodied carbon emission in Singapore’s trade process. Thus, Dr. Bin Su analyzed the relationship between energy/carbon emissions and value added from the demand perspective, and used the multiplicative structural decomposition analysis to decompose the aggregate embodied intensity, and identified the driving force of energy intensity, which provides guidance for the implementation of energy policy. In addition, Dr. Bin Su also pointed out that existing research is basically limited to the level of intra-regional analysis, and multi-country and multi-regional analysis should become a useful direction for follow-up research on energy/carbon intensity.

Lecturer: Dr. Bin Su is a senior researcher at the Energy Research Institute of the National University of Singapore, the deputy director of Center for Energy and Environmental Research, and the leader of the energy system modeling team. He is also the general leader of the Singapore Energy Conservation and Low Carbon Path Development Research Project. The main research interests are economics and policy of energy and environment, energy and climate change, energy and environmental system modeling and analysis.

Organizer: College of Management and Economics, Tianjin University
